Our Story...
Jano and I are both independent business owners, working in the same field. We were attending the same meetings and met each other there. We didn't want to mix business/pleasure so to speak in the beginning and so we began our relationship dating 'secretly', well... secretly from everyone except our close friends and family.
The first few months of our relationship was a very trying time for both of us, and I am so blessed to have found such an amazing man to stay by my side through it all! During that time of my life I faced one of the biggest battles I will face in my life - my battle against Ovarian Cancer. My now fiance never left my side, supporting me through all the many ups and downs that summed up that time of my life. I know that we met when we did for a reason, and it made us stronger as a couple!

We moved in together fairly quickly. It made sense for us at the time, after all I was needing someone to take care of me at times, and going through treatment meant money was tight. Moving me meant also moving in the zoo that we now call our family.... He had a dog of his own, a lab cross named Chloe, and I came with a German Shepherd cross named Daviana and a Maine Coon cross named Pippen. We also adopted a second cat together, a Tortie kitten we named Jinx.

Jano's mother won a free weekend trip to Mackinac Island and gave it to us to use. I contacted the travel agent and planned it for the weekend of his birthday, figuring it was the perfect way to celebrate! When we got there we were both excited to visit Fort Mackinac as we are both big military history geeks. While we were up there Jano led me to one of the look out points, where they do the cannon demonstrations, and with the view of the whole island behind us he asked me to marry him. The picture below left was taken immediately following that by a stranger who was there at the time in the exact spot that he had asked me! The ring (below, right) is a custom wedding set he had made with a black diamond on the solitaire engagement ring and rubies on the two bands that sit above and below.
