Reception Details
We are planning on having a fun and upbeat reception, including some of the traditional events/activities, and giving a slight twist to others. I am hoping that it will reflect us more as a couple that way and that everyone will enjoy it!
Our meal will be a buffet. I have always enjoyed buffet style receptions much more as you aren't forced to choose one meal weeks in advance for that day, you can have a little of everything if you so choose. We are also having a kids buffet available for the younger children with kid friendly foods like fries, mac and cheese and pizza.

Decorations
I found a picture with the help of friends that gave the look I was hoping for for our guest tables. We are getting white linens from the resort included in our package, and the only additional linens we are paying for at the tables is black napkins. They will be folded so they hang over the edge slightly in each picture. Each setting will have the photoshare card and menu sitting where the plate normally would be (plates will be at the buffet stations) with a single red ribbon rose on top. Our table numbers are just going to be a simple scripted table number, nothing fancy.
I am making my own centrepieces. They are a submerged red roses with black stones and a floating candle centred on a mirror with tealights in the corners. I already did one mock up, and love the way the rose almost glows when the lights are lowered. We will also have red rose petals sprinkled around the centrepiece.
We haven't put much thought into the other decorations yet, and don't plan on doing too much really. I do want to put bathroom baskets in the bathrooms. The cake table is being taken care of my by bridesmaid/cake baker. I am giving her some decorations/supplies and she's going to make it happen as she thinks will work, although we have found an inspiration picture.
Cake
I don't have much I can say about the cake. The reason being that I won't even know what its going to look like until I see it in person! One of my bridesmaids is a cake baker and has offered to do our wedding cake as our wedding gift! We have discussed a couple inspiration pictures, and I know she knows what our favourite cake flavours all, but besides that it's going to be a complete surprise!
Photobooth & Guestbook
We went to a Christmas Party for my last employer this past December and they had a photobooth at the event. It was a huge hit and we immediately knew we wanted one at the wedding as well. We priced A LOT of companies around the area as we knew we'd have to be paying for someone to travel from somewhere like Toronto, and found a company called Funarama that we were really impressed with. Guests will receive a sleeve to put their photos in and a copy of their photos for their favours, and a scrapbook where a copy is put and they get to decorate will be our guestbook. Its unlimited photos during the hours we have them, and you can have up to 8 copies printed per photo session!
